米Oracle（以下、オラクル）は現地時間17日、プログラミング言語「Java」の最新バージョンとなる「Java 26」の提供を開始したと発表した。Java 26（Oracle JDK 26）は、開発者の生産性を向上させ、言語を簡素化し、開発者がAIと暗号化機能をアプリケーションに統合できるよう支援する何千もの改善を提供する。

「Java 26」は、6カ月ごとに実施されている「Java」のメジャーバージョン。後継バージョンがリリースされる2026年9月まで、アップデートが提供される。同じバージョンで長期運用したい場合は、 「Java 25」 などの長期サポート（LTS）リリースを利用すべきだ。
